i've always been in the lake and now i sit the shore
i notice the time, the place, the booze, the heat, the sore...
i sleep when the sun goes down, might rise on it's return
i think about everything and nothing's what i learn
i wanted to pray alone i name you in this prayer
i wanted this day alone i blame you in this prayer
the gift that i'm choosing is a gift for changing light
who cares if this day proceeds through wrongness or through right
whatever was in the lake will wash up on the shore
i found all the days i lost and never lose no more
